Residence Permit /Registration: Migration Board
An EU/EEA citizen* who is an employee, self-employed person, a provider or recipient of services, a student or a person who has sufficient funds to support himself/herself, has the right to reside in Sweden.

As an EU/EEA citizen you have the right to stay in Sweden without a residence permit. Right to reside must be registered with the Migration Board (Migrationsverket) within 90 days of entering the country.
Required documents
- fill in the Migration Board form "Registration of right of residence"
No 141011
- copy of a valid passport or national identity card
(where the nationality is stated)
- documents according to the conditions to "your" category
(employee, self-employed, provider of service, student, person

Registration process
send your application by post to the Migration Board in Karlstad
If you are a citizen of Switzerland, you must apply for a residence permit.

Personal Identification Number: SWEDISH TAX AUTHORITY
All those who are registered in Sweden do have a personal identity number as identification. This number will not change, you keep the same number your whole life.
The first six numbers are your birthday; the last four numbers are a birth number and a check digit. The second last number in the p-number shows your sex; odd for men, even for women. YYMMDD-XXXX
Between the date of birth and the birth number, there is a hyphen (-) which is swapped for a plus sign (+) in the year a person reaches the age of 100.

at the local Tax Authority, in person. If you need an interpreter, contact the Tax Authority in advance.

Passport, and any documents proving your civil status, birth certificates for any children who are moving with you, and your residence permit. (see above)
