Karlstad, the main city of Värmland, is located between Stockholm in the east and Oslo in the west.
You and your business contacts can get to Värmland by airplane, car or train. Even by boat is possible.

by plane - Airports
Flights to Stockholm take around 45 minutes and just under an hour to Copenhagen (in Denmark). You can choose between three different airports in Värmland.
Karlstad Airport  - flights to Stockholm and Copenhagen/ Denmark. Four departures on workdays each direction!
Hagfors Aiport  - flights to Stockholm - all workdays!
Torsby Airport  - flights to Stockholm - all workdays!

by train
It is very easy to get to Värmland by train - both from Gothenburg, Stockholm or Oslo. It takes about 2.5 hours from Stockholm and 3 hours to Oslo or Gothenburg. For traffic information see Swedish Railways homepage.

by car
The capital of Värmland, Karlstad, and several other towns in the county, lie on the E18 European Motorway that links Oslo in Norway with St. Petersburg in Russia via Stockholm. It takes just three hours by car to reach Gothenburg, Stockholm or Oslo.

by boat - Harbours
Värmland is on the northern shore of Sweden’s largest lake, Lake Vänern. Goods are sent to and from the entire world from the harbour in Karlstad and Kristinehamn.

Entrepreneur from Germany moves to Svanskog

In summer 2010 Bernd Fahje will start up his company in Svanskog, in the West of Värmland. He will focus on an online shop for workwear and safety shoes, but even custom made technical equipments as for example trailers for ATV (all terrain vehicles) or fork lift equipments for the German market. Bernd will even keep running the existing company in Germany.

Passion for bicycles - Dutchman Robin de Groot starts a company in Värmland

With many years of experience in the bicycle branch, he was owner of a bicycle shop as well as he participated in cycling competitions, Robin decided to start up a shop in Kärrbäckstrand. Cave-mex will open in July 2010.
